Our guns are entirely crafted from raw stock in our manufacturing facility in Saint-Bonnet-le-Château, a picturesque old town just outside of Saint-Etienne. Every parts is machined on state-of-the-art CNC equipment under very strict tolerances before hand-finishing, fitting and assembly by our Master Gunsmiths.


We only use the best steel available. Our break-open actions are machined from forged steel blanks which we subject to extremely stringent quality certification. Exacting care is brought to work for the regulation of our Express rifles. The Each and every rifle is individually regulated by actual firing in our shooting tunnels. Customer who receives a factory target with every double rifle we make.

We make our barrels mostly in-house, using the cold hammering technique. This process does not change the molecular structure of steel and actually reinforces the barrel metal when rifling is impressed into the precision reamed blank under extremely high pressure. Chapuis barrels are very accurate, very stable and last a long time.Barrels then undergo polishing and the slow traditional rust blueing process. The resulting finish is a deep blue-black that not only offers very good protection against oxydisation, but appears to be so deep as to become very nearly transparent. Drawn and prepared for every action we produce by Ivan Thierry, one of the best Master Engravers in France, the new engraving offered on our new Classique Collection has no peer at this price level. Delicate English-style bouquets or deep-chiseled relief Royal-style borders on pearlmatted background make our shotguns and rifles unique. Highly detailed game scenes and animal figures will remind you of the best hunting nature can give mankind. The walnut we use was grown in remote places throughout Anatolia. Blanks are cut from centuries-old trees and carefully selected for exceptional contrast and colours. Several applications of a hand-rubbed linseed oil finish deepen the burls and contrast of our beautiful gunstocks.
