Side by side rifle X4

In a conventional double rifle, barrel convergence can only be obtained by a complex soldering operation that requires highly skilled labour and mandates the use of only one load. With very few exceptions, this means that going to another load requires re-regulation of the barrels, which implies returning the gun to the factory for intricate polishing and blueing.

"A surprising constancy of the quality of the shots"

The left-hand barrel is fixed. No significant force needs to be applied to it. An adjustable block allows for simple and easy regulation by an easy change in the pressure it exerts on the free-floated right-hand barrel, equipped with a guiding ring.

The barrel band is also fully floated. This unique barrel design has been patented. A confirmed professional gunsmith will find that fast, non-invasive adjustments can be conducted easily without complex tooling whenever there is a need for different ammunition or loadings.

When installing optical sights, there is no longer any chance that the point of impact is changed because of the weight or constraints coming from the mount or the weight of the optics.

This unique regulation system is offered for the first time in a classic side-by-side double rifle. Whether you fire four, six or eight cartridges in quick succession or just send one or two bullets on their way to your game, convergence and regulation stay assured in most hunting situations and with most quality cartridges. The regulation adjustment block is not visible from the outside.

"No compromise in elegance"

The new X4 double rifle features the unique Progress receiver’s usual highly refined, hand chased detailing of the detonating typical of Chapuis Armes, now featuring reinforcing ribs that stem directly from the Chapuis Armes tradition.

Finely polished double triggers are present. The pistol-grip stock features a conservatively contoured traditional cheekpiece and dimensions set to emphasize the perfect balance and instantaneous target acquisition so important in a working hunting gun.

Weight is approximately 6 lbs or 3.1 kilos depending on walnut density and calibre. An adjustable front sight is installed on top of a contoured, streamlined ramp. The rear sight is a fiber optic enhanced leaf dovetailed in a quarter rib that is factory prepared to accept various bases for optics installation.

The X4 side-by-side double rifle is fitted with either automatic ejectors or manual extractors.
